Reading

I admit to being addicted to reading. Recently during a job interview someone asked me roughly how many hours per week I read. I had to pause to think. Its like asking someone how many times they breathe in a given day. I finally said it averages about 5 hours a day, for 35 hours of reading a week, but sometimes its much higher and sometimes its much lower, depending on the press of other concerns.

I almost called this section Books, but I seem to read far more online these days than I do in printed form. This includes web comics, news blogs, news websites, email mailing lists and the like. Not that I don’t read books. I just can’t afford a lot of them now and the various public libraries are only going to have so many books in my tastes. (Yes, I’ve worked my way through more than one public library, reading everything of even moderate interest). So, I’ve decided to save the Books section for reviews of books I’ve read.

Eventually, I plan to have pages for the various sorts of reading I do, and for the various reasons, but for now all I’ve got is the Online and Books sections.
